I am an associate professor at College of Geosciences, China University of Petroleum (Beijing). My research mainly focuses on the tectono-stratigraphic evolution of sedimentary basins, particularly where the salt-controlled structures and deep-water sedimentation interact. I have worked closely with industry in multiple research projects in the last couple of years. Currently I am working a project studying driven forces of salt tectonics and the associated structural and kinematic evolution in salt-bearing passive margins. Subsurface data, particularly high quality 3D seismic data, can provide geologists an opportunity to see geological features in the past
Sandbox modelling with digital image correlation (DIC) technique allows us to observe 3D surface deformation of the model evolution at high spatial and temporal resolution
Numerical simulation of turbidity current gives a whole set of hydraulic parameters of the flow permitting a detailed analysis of flow evolution
